Sounds Hold Off Knights 4-2 Through Drizzly Night
The Nashville Sounds defeated the Charlotte Knights, 4-2, in Nashville on July 31st, snapping the Knights' six-game winning streak.
The Sounds struck first in the fourth with a bases loaded walk from Knights Garrett Schoenle to Darrien Miller, which scored Akil Baddoo. Nashville added another run in the fifth when a wild pitch from Knights reliever Peyton Pallette scored Brandon Lockridge from third.
Despite falling behind by two, the Knights fought back to even the score in the top of the sixth with a Ryan Galanie home run that scored left fielder Austin Hays from second. Sounds catcher Darrien Miller was in the mix again after a double to right scored Tyler Black, and Miller scored on a sac fly by Lockridge.
The Knights finish the series in Nashville on August 2nd before heading back to Charlotte to open a series against The Durham Bulls, while the Sounds head to Memphis for a series against the Memphis Redbirds.
