The Stage Is Set for the NFL’s First Regular-Season Game on Australian Soil
The National Football League is heading down under for the first time for a regular-season game. The 2026 NFL Melbourne Game will feature the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on September 11. Kickoff is set for 10:35 a.m. AEST and will stream live on Netflix.
Before kickoff, Australian singer Cody Simpson and American rock band Infinity Song will perform the national anthems of Australia and the United States. During the game, the cast of A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical will perform a rendition of Sweet Caroline.
The Jonas Brothers will headline the halftime show as part of the NFL’s partnership with the Victorian State Government and Visit Victoria, marking another major addition to the league’s inaugural game in Australia.
The NFL Kickoff Festival presented by American Express will take place at Melbourne Park from September 10–12. The festival will host the official watch party for the NFL season opener between the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots.
Following the 49ers-Rams matchup, fans can attend a post-game tailgate party featuring performances by Public Figures, Grinspoon, Hot Dub Time Machine, and more. The festival’s September 10 main stage lineup will feature Kita Alexander, Peking Duk, and additional performers.
